Kate Meyers, MPP

Senior Policy Consultant

Policy Expertise:

  • Racial and Ethnic Disparities
  • Medicare

Kate Meyers joined the Institute for Health Policy as a Senior Policy Consultant in late 2005. Kate’s work currently focuses on two major areas: 1) understanding the contributors and possible policy approaches to racial/ethnic disparities in health, and serving as a catalyst for Kaiser Permanente to contribute to and learn from the national dialogue in this area; and 2) analyzing opportunities to leverage the learnings of integrated delivery systems in improving care for the Medicare population.

Prior to joining IHP, Kate spent over four years at KP’s Care Management Institute (CMI). As Elder Care Practice Leader at CMI, Kate collaborated with Elder Care leaders at KP’s national and regional levels through the KP Aging Network to implement strategies and activities to improve care of KP's older adults. This work included focused work in the areas of palliative care, dementia, high-risk medications, and regional strategic planning for local programs and structures.

Kate received a bachelor’s degree in history from Colgate University and a master of public policy (MPP) degree from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.
