Nicka Sewell

Project and Communications Coordinator

Nicka Sewell became the project and communications coordinator for both Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy and Kaiser Permanente International in June 2007. She publicizes and coordinates programs, maintains the two Web sites, manages event logistics, handles financial transactions, and serves as a liaison to Kaiser Permanente's National Corporate Meeting Services, accounting, and internal communications departments.

Nicka has been with Kaiser Permanente since 2002, when she started working at the Redwood City Medical Center in the Quality Department. In 2003, she moved to the Northern California Regional Offices, where she worked in the Regional Credentialing Department. Through her work in quality and credentialing, she often interfaced with practitioners of multiple disciplines in efforts to enforce quality, state, federal, and regulatory standards and policies.

Nicka maintains a continual interest in web and graphic design as well as in history through her outside work on genealogy. She received a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis on media management from Menlo College, where she was awarded the Doris and Richard O’Brien Award for being the student that best represented outstanding scholarship, leadership, and spirit in the Menlo College community.
