Operational Specialist, Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy
Monique Manansala provides analytical and technical business support for IHP, a division of the National Government Relations department. As part of the Institute for Health Policy, she supports and facilitates the promotion of the public policy environment, health and accessibility of high-quality care for Kaiser Permanente’s members and the communities we serve.
Health care trends I’m watching
I am tracking how advancing technology impacts the health care industry’s delivery systems and what that means for older generations who did not grow up with these technological advances. I’m also interested to see how the health care industry addresses the relationship between biopharmaceutical companies and high price drugs.
I have lead multiple projects for large scale capital projects within the biopharmaceutical and design engineering fields. I have provided project management in interdisciplinary teams across a wide span of projects, leveraging my technical background and process improvement skills while ensuring quality control and management for biopharmaceutical companies.
I grew up in an educational family business environment and at the age of 17 opened a Learning Center for grades pre-k to remedial college students. I have been deeply involved in community outreach and promoted various afterschool programs to assist children with their academic goals.
This experience in business has helped me lead and contribute to many successful projects, while cultivating relationships and improving upon work processes and operations.
Interests and experience
I volunteer for various local organizations in my community, including tutoring children in preschool through high school, and providing children’s ministry for toddler to preschool-aged children.
Outside of work and volunteering, I enjoy spending time with my husband and cheering my children on in their sports and activities.
