Patty Hayes

Patty Hayes is the former Director of Public Health Seattle & King County. She has over 35 years experience in public health and policy. Previously, Patty was the Executive Director of a statewide non-profit, WithinReach, which assists families and individuals to access health and food resources. In addition, Patty held a number of positions at the state Department of Health, including Assistant Secretary for Community & Family Health and Director of Policy, Legislative and Constituent Relations.

Patty has her nursing degree and masters degree for the University of WA. In 2020, the UW named Patty, Alumna Summa Laude Dignata, which is the highest recognition the University awards an alumni. In October of this year, the King County Council Awarded Patty the Martin Luther King medal of distinction for her leadership during the pandemic. Patty retired from Public Health Seattle & King County on October 1, 2021.
