Simon Borger

Simon Borger, LCSW, is the Vice President for Mental Health and Wellness at Kaiser Permanente. In this role, he leads the transformation of Kaiser Permanente’s delivery of evidence-based, outcomes-driven mental health and addiction care therapy and counseling services, in pursuit of a vision to be the model of mental health care in the nation. Simon is known for his work leading the development and implementation of Feedback Informed Care for both Kaiser Permanente San Diego as well as more broadly in Kaiser Permanente’s Southern California market.  Simon has also been a strong supporter of Collaborative Care and leveraging Kaiser Permanente’s integrated model to best meet the mental health and wellness needs of its members.  Recently, Simon has successfully moved forward a plan to bring interventional psychiatry to Kaiser Permanente San Diego.

Simon has worked for Kaiser Permanente for more than 22 years. A licensed psychiatric social worker, he received his master’s degree from Tulane University in 1994.  Simon worked as a clinic-based therapist for Kaiser Permanente for more than 10 years before moving to a management position in 2011.  Simon has a strong background in performance improvement and received his Six Sigma Black Belt through Kaiser Permanente while leading work to improve access and quality for Behavioral Health.
