Kaiser Permanente recognizes that excellent medical care alone is not sufficient to create healthy communities. The social, economic, and environmental determinants of health play a significant role. To bring about demonstrable improvements in health, we work with others to create health-promoting physical, social, and economic environments.

Nearly half of U.S. children have had at least one adverse childhood experience (or ACE), which can have lasting impacts on their physical and mental health even into adulthood. This forum brought together leaders from across sectors to discuss innovative ways to prevent and address trauma in children in school, community, and clinical settings.
